I only got to know Dave last summer. I started showing up at the beach a lot because I liked the comfort of all the people around. I never knew why Dave started speaking to me. He just started a conversation with me one day as if we'd known each other for years. I've loved hearing over these last few months that that's just how he was. He made me feel accepted and cared about in every single time I saw him--like I belonged and I hadn't felt that way in a really long time. I'm so grateful for that.
